Cried and then cried again。 This is the single most beautiful and sad book I’ve read in a while。 It discusses moving forward with life even after it seems to have ended。

I wanted to love this book。 I love a grumpy， old man and a redemption story。 I love cats。 But， sadly， this book was so boring for me and I got really tired of how genuinely MEAN Ove was （especially to the cat）。 Yes， he redeemed himself and became the hero for finally acting like a civil human being， but getting to that point dragged for me。Also: TW for suicidal thoughtsI’m definitely still gonna go see the movie， though。 I feel like Tom Hanks cast as Ove will be absolute perfection。

The book started off being a bit depressive to the point you almost put it down。 But I am glad I stuck with it。 The books went from being depressing to humorous too being wholesome in the end。

I found character of Ove interesting and the way his life story was presented piece by piece was fine。 But didn’t like the unlogical way this stubborn guy was unable to say ”no” in very simple situations。 It made no sense to me because his character was all about living his own life not thinking pleasing others。
